Client Confidentiality and Policies Agreement
By signing up for Amanda Westphal’s counselling services, you automatically agree to the terms outlined below.
Confidentiality Policy
As a registered practitioner, maintaining confidentiality is fundamental to our therapeutic relationship. However, there are situations where confidentiality may need to be waived to ensure the safety of you or others. Confidentiality may be breached in the following circumstances:
- Risk of Harm: If you express an intention to seriously harm yourself or others, or there is a reasonable belief that you are at risk of self-harm or suicide.
- Mandatory Reporting: Any disclosure of child abuse or neglect must be reported under Australian law.
- Legal Obligations: Information may be subpoenaed by a court or otherwise required by law.
- Third-Party Disclosure (With Consent): Confidential information may only be shared with another professional or agency with your written consent unless disclosure is legally required. Where possible, I will discuss the intention to breach confidentiality with you before proceeding.
By attending sessions, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the confidentiality policy.
Your Sessions
Therapy is most effective when tailored to your individual goals and needs.
- Session Frequency: You may choose to attend weekly sessions or adjust as needed to suit your circumstances.
- Ending Therapy: You are free to discontinue therapy at any time.
- Group Therapy: In group settings, all participants must maintain the confidentiality of other group members.
Fee Structure
Each individual session costs $220, payable 24 hours before your session. Payments are securely processed via Stripe.
- There are no Medicare rebates available; however, some private health funds (e.g., Medibank, AHM, BUPA) may offer rebates.
- Group therapy fees will be discussed at the time of booking.
Cancellation Policy
A 24-hour cancellation policy applies to all sessions. Fees will be charged for late cancellations or missed appointments, except in cases of exceptional circumstances.
Limits of Service
Failure to provide requested personal information may limit the ability to deliver the most effective and tailored counselling services.
Seeing Your Counsellor in Public
To protect your privacy, if we happen to encounter each other in public, I will not initiate interaction unless you acknowledge me first.
Automatic Agreement
By signing up for my sessions or programs, you automatically agree to all of the above terms, including session fees, confidentiality policy, and cancellation terms.
